So excited I got to photograph the Museum TIRPITZ in Blåvand, denmark’s west coast, a region steeped in history. And one of my favorite areas. The exciting contrast of gentle dune landscape and concrete brutality stages the history of an entire region in the TIRPITZ museum in the small town of Blåvand.
The new TIRPITZ is a quiet counterbalance to the horrific wartime history of the town of Blåvand on the west coast of Denmark. The „invisible museum“ is 2 800 m2 in size and transforms and expands a historic German bunker from the Second World War into an impressive area with four exhibitions in a single building. The museum blends seamlessly into the landscape.
